California Institution for Men (RCW)

Reception Center West (RCW) has an inmate population of approximately 1400 medium level custody inmates. The facility consists of eight dormitory housing units. Each housing unit has a capacity of approximately 200 inmates waiting processing/transfer to programming institutions. They had a massive riot on the west yard this year (2009) and burned alot of the structures to the ground. We use to call it the Wild Wild West yard because there was always something getting ready to go off.
